Photos: Motorhead Madness powers into the DECC

The Hunt Electric Motorhead Madness is the Northland’s top indoor custom car show. Held in Duluth every third weekend in March for more than 50 years, this event spans four event areas of the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center.

The show showcases a lineup of customs, street rods, trucks, motorcycles, race cars, rat rods, muscle cars, and antique vehicles.

Motorhead Madness attractions include Modelmania and interactive “Make & Take” model building, indoor racing from the Lake Superior Radio Control Car Club, a drag racing "Christmas tree" start simulator, the Harbor City Robot Riot, the Young Backyard Builders contest, and the Miss Motorhead competition, along with a wide range of vendors.

This year’s special guest is TV personality Joe Zolper, best known from Garage Squad. Attendees can also participate in hourly door prize drawings, along with a grand prize drawing.

Beyond offering access to cars and entertainment, Motorhead Madness supports the community. Each year, part of the proceeds goes to a local nonprofit. This year’s donation will fund an automotive scholarship at Lake Superior College.
