Two dogs were shot and killed, and three people were injured following a dog attack on March 21 in Louisville's East End.
Louisville Metro Police Department officers responded to a report of a person being attacked by dogs in the 13000 block of Reamers Road near the Pewee Valley area at approximately 11:10 a.m., according to a statement from LMPD spokesperson Adam Sears.
Upon arrival, officers encountered two dogs actively attacking people and exhibiting aggressive behavior toward first responders, the statement said.
To stop the attacks, officers discharged their firearms, resulting in the deaths of both dogs.
The three individuals injured by the dogs were transported to UofL Hospital for treatment. The incident is under investigation by officers in coordination with Louisville Metro Animal Services.
